The Ship

The Harmony of the Seas will be an "Oasis Class" ship. She is expected to be commissioned in summer 2016. Because she will exceed her 362 meters long sister ships by 2.15 meters and will also be 5.5 meters wider, the "Harmony" will be the world's largest cruise ship. This ship offers room for up to 5,479 passengers on 16 decks.

Staterooms

All cabins are very spacious, modern, comfortably furnished and are all equipped with TV, telephone, bathroom with shower, air condition, hair dryer and much more.

A Special  Drink from Puerto Rico

Island Recipe - Flan de Pina (Pineapple Custard) (makes 10 servings)

1/2 cup sugar, 1 medium pineapple sliced, 1 can (15 oz.) sweetened condensed milk, 1can (14.5 oz.) evaporated milk, 2 cups milk, 5 large eggs, 1 jar (18 0z.) pineapple jelly. In skillet on medium heat, melt sugar to form caramel. Pour caramel on bottom of baking dish. Place pineapple slices on top of caramel. Blend other ingredients in blender till smooth. Pour blended mixture over pineapple. Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours. Delicious!

Labadee Haiti

Labadee is a port located on the northern coast of Haiti. It is a private resort leased to Royal Caribbean International. Royal Caribbean International has contributed the largest proportion of tourist revenue to Haiti since 1986, employing 300 locals, allowing another 200 to sell their wares on the premises, and paying the Haitian government US$6 per tourist.

The resort is completely tourist-oriented, and is guarded by a private security force. The site is fenced off from the surrounding area, and passengers are not allowed to leave the property. It is also blocked off from the remainder of Haiti by mountains. A controlled group of Haitian merchants are given sole rights to sell their merchandise and establish their businesses in the resort. Although sometimes described as an island in advertisements, it is actually a peninsula contiguous with the island of Hispaniola.

Attractions include a Haitian flea market, beaches, watersports, a water-oriented playground, and a zip-line.

Blind Sailors Set Their sights on The Mediterranean Sea

ABOARD THE KAPITAN BORCHARDT, Spain: Standing at the helm of a three-masted schooner, Alina Koralewska is having no trouble at all staying the course to Barcelona despite being able to see neither compass nor stars.

The 59-year-old Pole is blind and is steering the Kapitan Borchardt on the Mediterranean with the help of a talking global positioning program.

“Course 248, left 6 degrees, left 4 degrees,” the electronic voice feeds into her headset, telling her when to turn the helm and by how much.
